Policy day

Following the consensus conference, an additional day (October 9th) will be devoted to organizing an institutional event, which will serve as an excellent opportunity to launch the results dissemination phase. Although the results will not be published in their entirety, this event will highlight the existence of the ICF Core Set for Deafblindness and will have an impact on the future implementation of the codes in all areas of this disability.

This last part of the consensus conference expects to bring together five main groups of participants:

  1. Deafblindness professionals who have played a significant role in the development of the ICF project.
  2. Health care professionals and providers who can potentially contribute to the implementation of the final codes.
  3. Local, state and EU political representatives who can potentially contribute to the inclusion of the final codes in the WHO.
  4. People with lived experience who have been involved in the ICF project so that they can see the value of their contribution.
  5. Interested members of the general public, particularly within the health and social care field.
